Whiteford Township is located in the southwestern corner of Monroe County, east of Lenawee County and north of Lucas County. US-23 runs north and south between Ann Arbor, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio offering quick commuting for residents who choose to work outside of Monroe County.

     The landscape is primarily rural and agricultural land with wide spread population and low density. There you will find quaint comfort and easy living, maintaining distance between your home and congested inner city areas. Whiteford is one of the county’s largest townships at 40.3 square miles. The least population can be found in the northwest, increasing into the southeast toward Ohio. As of 2000, there were 4,420 residents in 1,582 households. The median income for a household in the township was $56,280.

     Schools include Whiteford Elementary and Sr. High located between the villages of Ottawa Lake and Whiteford Center.

     Recreation can be found at Ottawa Lake in the north or perhaps a day of golf at the Ottawa Lake Golf Course, the Sand Wedge Golf Course off to the northeast or cherry Wood Golf Course to the east near Lambertville.
