LaSalle Township, Monroe County, Michigan

La Salle Township is located south of Monroe and North of Erie. As of the 2000 census the population was 5,001 strong amongst 1,765 housholds. The households are spread throughout La Salle’s 26.6 square miles. The median household income was $63,693.

La Salle is not as heavily farmed as central Monroe County, but agriculture does prevail with heavy patches of woodland areas throughout for a brightly colored fall season. To the east lay Lake Erie with coastal living along North Shores and Toledo Beach. Pleasant views can be seen along S. Otter Creek Rd. that runs parallel to Otter Creek. The road also leads to the upscale Toledo Beach Marina where boat enthusiast from miles around gather in the warm months for fishing and water sports.

Children most often attend Mason Consolidated Schools and the Mason North Elementary The main campus with entrances on S. Dixie Hwy and Lakeside Rd. consists of the elementary, junior high and high school situated on and open landscape with large acreage for playgrounds, athletics and wooded trails.

Interstate 75 runs North and South between Detroit, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio with one on-ramp for commuting. Telegraph and Dixie Hwy. also pass through La Salle, direct routes to Monroe, South County and Toledo, Ohio. Work, shopping, and recreation are always only minutes away in any direction.
